Epoxy Wood Consolidant

Designed for restoring wood damaged by dry rot and for sealing hair line cracks, end grain and porosity in wood. Serves as both a sealant against water penetration and as a restorative of damaged wood structural members. Completely saturates the wood fibers, encapsulates and permanently hardens dry rot areas. Working time is approximately 60 minutes at 70°F (21°C)and a hard cure is obtained overnight.

Silicone Rubber Moldmaking Materials

Silastic 3110 and #1 Catalyst

The Silicone rubbers, when used to make molds, offer high fidelity reproductions, capture delicate details, master intricate shapes and hold severe undercuts. They are widely recognized as the superior moldmaking materials that are easy to use.

Silastic 3110 RTV Rubber, formerly Silastic A. White in color, this is the lowest viscosity of the Silastics. It is also the easiest to work with and pour. It fills tiny crevices and indentations and does not require vacuum de-airing. Use only with Catalysts 1 or 4. Catalyst 1 is a blend of active catalysts in an inert silicone paste and is easier to use than Catalyst 4 which is a 100% active material.

Silastic E RTV Rubber, white in color this rubber features very good tear resistance, long working times, heat accelerable curing, high elongation and virtually no shrinkage. Much more viscous than Silastic 3110, but much stronger physically after curing. Can pour low melting metals directly into Silastic E molds. Use only with Catalyst E and must be vacuum de-aired after mixing with the catalyst.

Instant Mold

A heat-softened, reusable plastic putty that can be used to make small, quick molds. Dip a piece of Instant Mold into hot water to soften it, remove and dry and push it onto the item to be molded. After it cools, remove and make copies using Milliput or any other non-heat set material pressed into the mold. Excellent for creating duplicates of very small items with a lot of detail. Can be reused indefinitely; just place Instant Mold back in hot water to soften and use again. Comes in package of 6 sticks, enough for most small projects.

Modostuc

Modostuc is a dense putty material with very little shrinkage after drying. Modostuc paste is a PVA binder with calcium carbonate filler. It can be thinned with water, ethyl alcohol or acetone. Ethyl alcohol and acetone can be used for cleanup. If Modostuc dries out, it can be revitalized by adding more water. Compatible with wood, stone, ceramic, porcelain and other substrates.

French Chalk

A fine filler for porcelain and ceramic repair. Can be mixed and used the same as microspheres, Polyfilla, and other fillers.

D4238-500500 grams$4.95

Microspheres

Used as a filler in porcelain/ceramic repair. Also used in plaster repair. These are lightweight glass spheres, of 20-200 micron size. When used in plaster repair, they inhibit very little the flow of the adhesive during injection but, by reducing the adhesives density, limit its flow under the force of gravity after placement.

Laponite RD

Used in cleaning of marble and alabaster as well as porcelain/ceramics. When dispersed in water it produces a clear colorless gel. Can be used to remove water soluble adhesives and to soften ingrained dirt to expedite its removal. pH 9.8 at 2% dispersion, gels form at 2% concentration, colloidal dispersion.
